Our Story.

The story of Joseph and I is so romantic, I think because it is our love story. I am a registered nurse; at the time I was working in an intensive care unit. I had recently returned from a trip to London with two of my girlfriends. On my first day back, my assignment was a prisoner from the nearby jail, so needless to say the patient had two officers at his bedside. It was the second shift that I met Joe, and right away I thought he was cute. The officers, including Joe were at his bedside for eight weeks and on Joe's last day he finally asked me on a date. For those eight weeks we got a chance to get to know each other. Joe and I dated for three months and then he proposed. Of course I said "Yes". That following November, we were married. We met and planned a wedding in eight months. It was the most beautiful and happiest day of our lives. Joe and I decided to start trying to conceive a baby right away due to my age of thirty-nine. Within six months, when nothing had happened in that area, we decided to consult a fertility specialist. We were advised that the best bet was to try invitro-fertilization. We tried four times, all ending unsuccessfully. The attempts at IVF was causing stress on our marriage, which we were newlyweds, so we decided to take a break from babies. We did always know that we wanted a beautiful baby to complete our family.

Karen's perspective on Joe:
My husband Joe is someone really special. He is kind, loyal and always full of energy. But the love he has inside him is the best quality of all. Joe loves me and there is not a day that goes by that I don't know how much he does.

Joe's perspective on Karen:
My wife Karen is very special to me, she is loving and has a huge heart, so much so, she puts others before herself, including me. I feel she is kind and beautiful on the outside as well as the inside.

We enjoy spending time together, riding our beach bikes, walking and spending time with family, especially our nieces and nephews and their many sporting events. Joe is always fixing things around the house, golfing and cooking. I also enjoy doing things around the house, especially decorating, reading and running to stay in shape.

Joe and I come from large families and we enjoy spending a majority of our time with them. My parents have passed away but it was instilled in our hearts that family is most important. I am the youngest of five, I have two brothers and two sisters, who I consider my best friends. When we all get together, usually Sundays for dinner, there is a crowd that ranges from brothers and sisters, to nieces and nephews, and even to friends. Joe's family is very similar, we enjoy spending time with them as well. Joe is the middle of the bunch. His parents are divorced but remain friendly and close. He has one sister, two half sisters and three brothers. We have always wanted a baby to join our big, happy family, to love with all of our hearts. It will complete our family, where something has been missing.

We'd like to thank your for taking the time to learn about our family. Whichever path you decide is best for you and your baby, please know that you are in our prayers.
